Lower Madison Stream Flows | Upper Madison Stream Flows

The upper Madison has been improving due to less fishing pressure.  Rubberlegs, Fat Alberts, Double Bunnies, and small bead heads have been working well.  On the Lower, a Bow River Bugger has been rocking some big fish.  The Lower (like the Bighorn) still has a lot of weeds right now.  The good news is that the 2:00 fishing closure has now been lifted!

Although we've heard some good reports from the lower, we've also heard a few slow reports.  Lots of weeds, but you're still better off shaking them off and going deep rather than switching to hoppers or something dry.  Guys who are going dry were not catching as much.  So what fly is the magic fly?  Try a clouser cray fish, or my favorite - the bow river bugger in size 8.
