Worm and a Pink Sow bug dropper. I heard some steller stories this week from the Horn! Stories that included phrases like, "The best dry fly fishing of the year" to "it's fishing right anywhere from fantastic to phenomenal." I wish the Horn was just a bit closer, (either that or I wish I had more free time). Wouldn't that be nice! Other phrases were pretty funny like, "Oh, it was painful! 50 fish were fighting for food right in front this guy and he couldn't cast past his @#$!" or "Man, I just had to get out of there (Ft. Smith) to keep my sanity!"
With the right frame of mind, the Bighorn can really be an incredible place. When it is at it's best, it is unbeatable. The trick is trying to convince yourself that it can be fun to in the middle of all those people. So long as the fishing is good, a crowd can be a blast to fish through. Who doesn't feel good when you're railing on fish all day long and people are watching you. And you'll be watching them too, because their are some TOADS being held up for photos. As this vibe escalates, everyone gets excited and start to fish hard. This can be fun as hell, provided you have accepted you might as well make the best of things are have fun with all your friends on the river.
