Enchanted Lake LodgeFly Fishing for Alaska's Biggest Rainbows
There are several
streams we fish there where you catch smaller fish, rainbows in the 2-4
lb. class, but on
Gourmet dining in the wilds of Alaska is a daily treat. We fly to different fishing locations every day in immaculately maintained DeHavilland Beavers. Flights are 15-20 minutes, and upon arrival we have jet boats on most rivers to shuttle anglers around. Smaller streams we raft, covering water from one lake to another. The guides are some of the finest fly fishing guides I've fished with anywhere. These guys have had many years of guiding experience and some of the guides have worked for Enchanted Lake for more than 10 years. They can get rank beginners into lots of big fish and show experts the techniques needed to fool even the toughest big fish. In the early season, there is some excellent dry fly fishing and fry fishing. Later, once the salmon runs start, the trout become more selective to egg patterns. Sight fishing for 10 pound rainbows is quite an experience. Streamer fishing on the big rivers is lots of fun and the way to catch some of the largest fish. Enchanted Lake is very popular and many clients return year after year. It is essential to book this early if you want to come in prime time. Even then it may not be possible for us to book specific weeks since returning anglers or groups roll over their dates each year. Enchanted Lake Lodge accommodates 12 anglers each week. Hosted Trips to Enchanted Lake Lodge with George Anderson George hosts a trip each September to Enchanted Lake. This is the time when you can catch the largest rainbows of the season on streams like Moraine Creek, the Battle, and famous Lower Talarik Creek that flows into Lake Iliamna. This year's dates are Sept. 11-19. Follow this link for more info on George's 2004 hosted trip. |
