The Yellowstone The Salmonflies are now into the grand canyon of the Yellowstone and only accessible to serious hikers. Fishing above Yankee Jim has been great with attractor dries, through town has been hot with nymphs, and below Livingston has been good with streamers. This week looks hot, so the early bird will definitely be getting the worm...

The Madison The reports I've heard from the upper have not been good. The Salmonflies are gone and the fish are not hitting dries very well. They have been playing with the levels this week, which also has an effect on the fish. As for the lower, the recent heat has the bikini hatch in full effect. Believe it or not, the best time to fish the lower now is either the crack of dawn or a midnight mission...

The Spring Creeks The PMD's on the creeks have taken off nicely. On 6/12 we had reports of seeing about 100 PMD dries, and today on 6/18 about 300 dries. This is great news for those who have rods. For those of you who don't, we've had several cancellations on all three creeks. Give us a call and we'll help you secure a rod during prime time. 406-222-7130

Local and Private Lakes Looking for a slam dunk? The private lakes in the area have been unbelievable! The callibaetis hatches are thick, the damsels are dancing, and the leeches & scuds are everywhere! A lot of BIG fish have been caught this week - quite possibly 20 over 20 inches! Give us a call to find out where the
hot spots are... 406-222-7130

The Bighorn Don't put your Baetis box away just yet - the Bighorn's dry fly fishing has been awesome! Plus, now that other rivers are clearing, the Horn has a lot more elbow room. This week particularly looks like good fishing due to higher CFS flows. Hopefully some clouds will move in for dry fly fishing, but if the sun is out switch to a SJW and pink sow bug dropper.

The Missouri For expert anglers who can pick off fish in the pod 40 feet away the MO has been incredible. For beginners who can't cast a dry with accuracy, the MO has been extremely tough. The fish don't seem to be interested in scuds and san juan worms, as they are focused on PMD nymphs and emergers all day and caddis in the evening. There has been decent elbow room this past week...

The Big Hole The Big Hole has been dropping 100 CFS a day this week! Bad news indeed. If you want to float the Big Hole this summer, you better get over there soon. Float longer sections and push through the shallows and look for the deepest (and coolest) water. Fish those as hard as you can and when you're just floating, fish the middle of the river...
