Assistant Fly Shop Manager

Job Description:

George Anderson's Yellowstone Angler, one of the premier fly fishing destination shops in the country for the past thirty years, is currently recruiting for an assistant shop manager. This is a full time / year round position in retail sales with emphasis on managing guide bookings. 40 hours a week, with two days off each week.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic fly fisherman to join our team here at the Yellowstone Angler. Requirements are a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2 years experience in the fly fishing retail sales business. We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality, that is self motivated and a person that has a thorough knowledge of fly fishing, flies, gear, tackle and clothing. The job will focus on managing shop inventory, retail sales, merchandise buying, shipping and receiving, staffing, as well as working into managing our guide bookings. Good computer skills is a plus, web site and on-line catalog design experience would also be very helpful.

Summertime Fly Shop Employee 

      (Summer position, from June through early September)

We are looking for enthusiastic anglers with fly fishing experience, good people skills, and an upbeat personality.   Experience in retail sales of any kind as well as solid communication skills are important.  We are looking for a person that is willing to work hard and be self motivated.  This job will focus mainly on fulfilling customer's retail needs and answering questions about local fishing.  When customers are not in the shop the job will include duties such as pricing and stocking merchandise, counting inventory, shipping / receiving, and cleaning.     

40 hours a week, with two days off each week.  The fishing opportunities close to Livingston are endless and just minutes away.  You can literally fish every day and we encourage you to do so!  We will be required to get you on many of the private waters we book and fish (without the typical rod fee) in order to report what has been working to our clientele. 

Housing is generally easy to find in Livingston and not expensive. Bozeman Montana has a little more happening, and is about a 20-25 minute drive.

This position would start early to mid-June and last through mid-September.  We are flexible with students and their school schedules.  The later you can work into August or September the better.
