The PMD hatches have been thick this week, with sulfurs starting around 5:00 in the evening.  Our tan sparkle scud has been the key lead fly in the morning before the PMD's get going.   After stomach pumping a few fish, your #1 one fly should be René Harrop's Olive Short Wing Emerger.  Stop by or give us a call for more info.

Mission Creek | Armstrong's | DePuy's | Nelson's

Milesnick's | McCoy's

We've had some outstanding reports from the guides and outfitters that we work with. The new work that George designed for Armstrong's (excavated by Jim Darr) really turned out great.  A lot of big fish (18-20") have been hanging out in the new holes between the diagonal riffle and the Spring's origin.  The middle section of DePuy's has been a great spot for PMD's (and views), while the run near Eva's hut has held some bigger fish.  Nelson's, which is almost impossible to get on in the summer, has also been producing some impressive rainbows and big browns... the "log dwellers" as we like to call them range from 18 - 23" inches.

If you're heading out to any of the creeks, stop by the shop and we'll give you a map as well as some ideas as to where the bigger fish are and what techniques to use for each spot.  Or better yet, let us match you up with one of the many great outfitters and guides we book.

Recommended Tackle:
490 Z-axis, G.Loomis 9'#4 Streamdance Presentation, or Winston BIIX 5 weight.  Ross Evolution 2, Lamson Litespeed 2 Scientific Angler's Trout taper line or Rio Selective Trout.

Recommended Terminal Tackle:
George Anderson's Maxima Clear Butt 12 foot 5x hand tied leader with Segaur Grandmax fluorocarbon tippets. Depending on depth and water speed, hang two nymphs 3-6 feet below a medium sized thill indicator. This would also be a good opportunity to see if you like the balloon indicators.
