This reusable, non-toxic tungsten putty allows you to control the exact amount of weight you want.  Simply pull f the desired amount of weight, roll it into a little ball and then flatten it.  Place it onto the desired place on your leader and mould into a nice aerodynamic shape.  It hardens a little when placed into cold water to help keep it where you put it.   We have found it works the best when you mold it around a surgeon's or blood knot on your leader.

Non Toxic tin shot.
A non toxic version of an old favorite.  A must have for Yellowstone Park.  They are about half as heavy as lead, so go up a size or double up to get down.  Available in BB and 3/0.

Unlimited reusability sets this fishing split shot apart. Tungsten—non-toxic and heavier than tin—won't crimp your tippet. Instead, the tippet wraps around a groove in the shot for a super-secure grip. Split shot is removable, allowing you to get the most from each shot. 20 split shot per dispenser, 1g, (10 count) 1.6g (10 count). Imported.
This stuff is expensive, but when you want to get a bugger or nymph down deep in a hurry, this is the way to do it.  If you get cleaned out by the monster, the tungsten split shot is better for the environment than lead.
