The Yellowstone We've had some 30 fish to the boat reports the last few days! Mayor's to Sheep, the Bird Float, through town... everyone seemed to big rocking big fish black rubberleg stoneflies and beadhead droppers. Streamers didn't work as well - but it was pretty bright yesterday. We even heard reports of guys seeing Salmonfly adults, but my guess is 5 more days.

The Madison Right now is a great time to be fishing the lower Madison for big browns. The Salmonflies have moved up stream into Bear Trap Canyon, and will soon reach Ennis Lake and the upper Madison. Smaller fish have been going nuts on PMD's and Caddis, the big brutes are looking for protein like crayfish or streamers. Better get on the lower soon, before it gets the "bikini hatch."

The Spring Creeks Come out and see the new work! DePuy's dug out some nice new runs, the Nelsons built a lovely new Entertainment Cabin, and Armstrong's built a new island as well as dug out some new holes. Rod fees are $75 until 6/15 which means more elbow room - Give us a call and we can help you book a rod! 406-222-7130

Local and Private Lakes Looking for a slam dunk? The private lakes in the area have been on fire! The callibaetis hatches have been thick, the damsels have just begun, and the scuds are everywhere. A lot of fish have been caught this week- several over 20 inches! Give us a call to find out where to go... 406-222-7130

The Bighorn Don't put your Baetis box away just yet - the Bighorn's dry fly fishing has been awesome! Plus, now that other rivers are clearing, the Horn has a lot more elbow room. This week particularly looks like good fishing due to steady overcast days and rain. If the sun pops out and the fish stop rising, switch to Bighorn's meat and potatoes rig: a blood and a scud.

The Missouri The MO should be fishing well this week, especially with the cloudy skies which have been forecasted for this week. Since recent rain hit hard around Craig, Prickly Pear Creek and the Dearborn both took hefty spikes. The clearest section to fish right now is from the Dam to Wolf Creek bridge. Bring your baetis, but expect to see more caddis. SJW's and grey scuds work great for nymphs.

The Big Hole The Salmonflies have arrived, but water levels have recently increased as well - which means the fish will have a harder time seeing the bugs. Until the visibility gets a little more clear, those on the hunt for Salmonflies might be better off fishing Bear Trap Canyon of the Madison, or heading them off at the pass near Ennis Lake.

Florida Tarpon This year started off pretty slow and not many fished moved in until mid April. Then they started showing up by the thousands! Now that they are in, a lot of fish are being caught. No reports of anything huge being landed this year, but George and his friends have landed plenty of 80-130 pound Tarpon. Some of the best fishing has been at sunrise. Give us a call if you are headed that way... 406-222-7130
