George has designed several leader formulas to meet a variety of fishing situations in both fresh and salt water. Once you try our hand-tied leaders and experience the accuracy and positive turnover they provide, you won't go back to those wimpy knotless leaders ever again.

Hot Butt Leaders
These leaders are built with a 5-7' fluorescent Amnesia butt section. The fluorescent butt works great as an indicator for short line nymph fishing, yet the bright material is far enough from the tippet and fly that they can be used in the most technical spring creek or tailwater situations. In fact, the fluorescent leader butt works well as a "pointer" in flat light, giving the angler an idea where to look for a small emerger or dry fly. Available with Umpqua copolymer tippets or SeaGuar GrandMax fluorocarbon tippets.

Clear Butt Leaders
The Clear Butt formulas are similar to the Hot Butt leaders, but these are built with 5 sections of clear Maxima in the butt and mid sections. These leaders turn over very positively, and you'll find they are perfect in the wind and for dealing with weighted or wind-resistant flies and indicators. Their superior accuracy makes them a favorite with many of our guides on the spring creeks. These are available with clear Maxima butt sections.
