The Yellowstone has been tougher the last few days.  Partly due to the sun, partly due to the wind.  Despite the really cold water temperature, we’ve had some good lunch time swats and a few evening tugs.   If you’re really after fish this time of year, nymph fishing with a big juicy rubberleg lead fly and a beadhead would probably be the best, we’ve been mostly streamer fishing which is a lot more miss than hit and the moment.  It’s nice to see there are some 20+ browns paying attention anyway.  The Yellowstone is currently flowing at 1590 CFS, which is fun to explore while this low.  It is fun to imagine the water at 8,000 CFS, trying to figure out where the hogs are going to hide this summer.
