Steve Galleta putting the Hardy ProAxis 1pc 8 weight to work...

The Yellowstone fished well this weekend, but not as good as it should have with all those clouds and no wind!   Steve caught two 20 inch browns that I made him measure.  I got a couple dink rainbows on streamers and aside from one fish almost jerking the rod out of my hand we didn’t see a chase.  For dries we didn’t see any drakes out there but the 8-15 inch rainbows were going bonkers on 22-24 pseudos and 18-20 baetis.  Most of these smaller feeders were podded up, so once we spotted a rise we tried to target the bigger snouts.   Not surprisingly we had more hits on a baetis cripple dropper than the purple haze lead fly.
