Now is one of the best times to fish local and private rod-fee lakes. It’s hard to be away from the salmonfly and PMD action on South Western Montana’s rivers and spring creeks, but the lakes are fishing as good as they will all year, primarily because there hasn’t been much summer crowd fishing pressure on them yet.
