James Anderson "suffering" some cold hands on the Stone. Photo: George Anderson

This week we had some cold weather roll in, looks like next weekend we’ll have temperatures above freezing again.  Around Livingston they said the wind chill was -4!  I don’t know if it was that cold, but it was certainly cold enough to freeze every guides about every 10 casts.  With slush floating down the river, there was the added challenge of getting your fly to land in the water.  I would have guessed the water temperature was too cold to fish streamers, but the hen above attacked the black leadeye with the same amount of speed you’d normally expect.  Got another nice brown to eat a white Home Invader before calling it quits, but that one shook the hook.
