Right now the water clarity is perfect for fooling big fish.  If you like to chuck and duck with either streamers or big nymphs, you should be fishing right now.  The only other time we get such optimal windows of “green is good” water color is after a rain, when the river is clearing up from a plug of mud.  Typically we will fish with bright flashy flies, or dark flies which are easier for both angler and fish to see.  If you like to strip streamers, try a sinking line.  If you’d rather dead drift a streamer, use a floating line with your first streamer about 5-6 feet under the indicator.  You’ll see strikes faster if you shorten the distance, but you won’t be able to hit the deeper seems as well…
