The Yellowstone has been fishing well lately despite historically low CFS flows for this time of year, (and the heat wave).  Although most of the Salmonflies have fluttered into the Park, the fish have been eating Goldenstones, Sallies, Caddis, PMD’s, and Terrestrials.  With water temps on the rise we are recommending an early start and taking out earlier than usual.  If (and when) a Hoot Owl restriction is put on the Yellowstone, our shop hours will change from 7:00AM-6:00 to 6:00AM-5:00PM every day. We recommend using a stream thermometer and when water temps are above 68 consider not fishing, (or at least refrain from taking photos of fish in order to release them as quickly as possible).

Water temps are on the rise, bring a thermometer and fish responsibly.
