Fish have been looking up and eating big dries this week. An ant dropper or attractor dry dropper has been a good way to fish the riffle shallows and stay out of the moss, particularly down low. There have been tons of hoppers above Yankee Jim canyon and inside Yellowstone National Park. We’ve also seen some along the Shield’s (make sure you are there before 2:ooPM). The streamer game has been really tough this week but a few guys are catching fish on them. Olive has probably been the best color, but also the most frequently used, so don’t be afraid to go against the grain and try something unique. Rubber legs, soft hackles, and small beadheads have all been taking fish, but also plan on catching some whitefish along with your trout. Give us a call for the latest report. 406-222-7130.
