It's go time...

In case you didn’t know, it’s Salmonfly time here in Montana!  The bugs have actually been out for over a week on some Montana rivers and will be hatching soon on others.  Big, fat, full-bellied fish have been crushing dries and have obviously been eating salmonfly nymphs for quite some time now.  We’ve been sticking with big dries like Paulson’s Flutter Bug, Lawson’s Salmonfly, Chubbies, or even something simple like an orange stimulator.  We haven’t seen any monsters caught yet, but you KNOW someone is going to catch one this weekend.  As for Salmonflies on the Yellowstone, (currently at 17,900 CFS) we’re still looking way too high and muddy.  If you you’re on the hunt for big bugs, you already know which rivers to fish… Go get ’em!
