A beautiful Fall Armstrong's brown (9/19) ... Photo: Paul Vais

If you’re looking to fish in our area while the river is dirty you might consider giving one of the local spring creeks a try.  Rod fees are now $75 until October 15th (when they become $40).  Hatches have been slim, pseudos (or some kind of tiny baetis) and sparse pale morning duns.  Try fishing smaller size #20/22 baetis emergers, #18/20 miracle nymphs, size #18/20 grey sparkle scuds, and a mix of smaller sawyer style baetis nymphs.  Even though there has been a lot less fishing pressure lately, 6X tippet has still been the key, preferably TroutHunter fluoro or GrandMax fluoro

A+ work Paul!
