While Montana has certainly experienced a cold spell, we haven’t seen much early season snow yet. They say in a true La Niña year, the moisture starts late, but when it finally starts to dump, it dumps. I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens. Ski reports have been pretty rough lately. We’ve definitely had to shovel less in Livingston compared to last December. Best case scenario for fishing next year: we have a “normal” 90-100% snow pack year and will be fishing a “green” Yellowstone in early July. Who knows what will happen. All we know is that right now the slopes are rocky and the streamer fishing has turned on. Either way, plan on wearing the same apparel.
