Guide Justin Bolduc and his father Wally with a nice Paradise Valley rainbow.

Despite the hotter afternoons, local and private lakes have actually been fishing well lately.  If you are looking for fat 20″ plus fish we have a couple private lakes that are fishing well right now.  The fish are looking up for hoppers, callibaetis spinners, damsels, and other terrestrials in the mornings and evenings.  During the heat of the day your best bet is to fish leeches, damsel nymphs, and scuds on a 300 grain 24′ sink tip.  8 weight rods do the the trick for this, which we have available as rentals should you only your 5 or 6 weight rod with you.  Give James a call at the shop if you’d like to set something up.  Rod fees vary from $75-100 per angler.  406-222-7130
