The Shield's is kicking in a good amount of mud right now (photo: 6/4)

Today at Carter’s bridge we’re looking at 2 plus feet of visibility.  Unreal… The Stone is currently running at 7,810 CFS in town and fishing well.  Of course, the whole state of Montana is on fire right now with Salmonflies on the lower Madison, salmonfly nymphs on the Big Hole, and PMD’s on the spring creeks.  We are expecting another spike on the Yellowstone (there’s still quite a bit of snow in the Absarokas), but we’re also expecting the river to clear again sometime in late June.  Snowpack in the upper Yellowstone Basin is currently 69% snow water equivalent and 94% total precipitation.  The Valley has been delivering 30 fish days, and some big fish have been caught down low before the shield’s spiked… give us a call we’ll keep you posted.
