The Yellowstone has been fishing well lately, especially with streamers. You certainly have to work for them right now, most of the fish we caught last night were holding in relatively fast water, about 2-4 feet deep, just off the riffle drops. Hard bank was not as productive as it looked, though the browns who are running up stream would likely follow the deeper paths and strong banks up the river. We did catch a few fish in on the inside corners, even in water less than two feet deep, which was a surprise. Our most successful combo was fishing a white streamer on top with a smaller, more sparsely tied olive streamer 24-36 inches behind it. We had enough action on streamers that we didn’t try nymphs, (I’m sure we would have caught more whitefish if we had broken out the bobber). Only saw a few dries out there but no risers. Flows are now down to around 1,870 CFS so there is definitely less places for fish to hide. In slower stretches of the river try looking for larger underwater rocks as holding water, we moved a few fish that were both directly in front (and behind) any boulders…
