Another lunch brown caught on the swing... Photo: Logan Brown

The Yellowstone has been hit or miss lately.  Mostly miss to be honest.  It’s been cold enough that guides are icing up nearly every outing but at least the slush ice floating down comes and goes.  If you are thinking of coming over for a visit give us a call as conditions are always changing.  Right now a lot of the take outs and put-ins are covered in snow and likely a good place to get stuck towing a trailer.  Instead, we recommend wade fishing a few of your favorite winter spots (and warming up your hands every now and then) while you drive to the next fishing access.  There have been midges out although we have been swinging streamers in the slower, calmer edge waters and tailouts.
