Clarity on the Yellowstone is perfect right now for throwing big uglies.  The brown above fell for one of Gallop’s Butt Monkey streamers.  300 grain sink tip lines on an 8 weight rod are a great way to go right now, especially if you like to throw a couple streamers.  Otherwise, try dead drifting a big Bow River Bugger under an indicator and add as much weight as your rod can handle.  There have been good numbers of bugs coming off, (March Browns, baetis, midges, even a skwala or two) but not many bigger fish are up eating them, the ones that are consistently feeding in the foam have been 12-15 inch fish for the most part…
