Although the last couple days have been hot, there has been a change of weather and we look forward to a great Fall. The fish are still eating hoppers hard. The fly bins, (like many in the fishing industry) are finally getting a second wind in September, with just enough hoppers to get us through the late Summer / early Fall. If you get a refusal on your hopper , ants as well as other smaller dries have also been catching fish. The hatches on the Spring Creeks have slowed down a lot but the good news is that the fish are plentiful and eating terrestrials like small hoppers, ants, and beetles. Yellowstone Park continues to be busy (especially fishing spots close to the road), however a short hike gets you more “elbow room” and plenty of serenity. There are still plenty of fish to be caught on dries and we expect the streamer fishing to heat up by mid-September. Give us a call to book a trip! 1-406-222-7130.
