The Yellowstone has actually been a little tough lately, partly due to fishing pressure, partly due to all the “tiger striped” mud plugs that have gone through, and partly due to slightly warmer water temperatures in the afternoons.  The good news is that fish are starting to look up much better and quite a few nice browns have been caught on hopppers, chubby chernobyls, and ants instead of on streamers or nymphs.  While water temps haven’t been aweful, a little cooler temps would certainly be welcomed, especially in the afternoons.  In general mornings have fished best so you may want to eat a later lunch if possible.  It’s an Angler’s river out there right now, but with the right hard working guide you should be able to find some good fish.  Give us a call to book a guide or for a mud report… 406-222-7130.
