The Yellowstone has been pretty darn slow lately, aside from a few spots where warmer water enters into it.  In those spots the fish are feeding on midges.  Try a mix of gnats or hanging midges for your indicator fly with a zebra midge, serendipity, or larva lace midge larva underneath.  In the main river the fish have been extremely sluggish to say the least, I haven’t moved a fish, felt a tug, or even seen a wake in a week.  If you have the whole day to fish and want to do well, we suggest spending the extra $40 to fish one of the spring creeks, (after looking at the wind report of course).  Since the water temp on the creeks will be close to 52 degrees the fish will be a lot more active.   Thursday and Friday look a little warmer, but unfortunately windy.  This weekend looks cold with more snow.  Perhaps next week the conditions will be more promising…
