Mid Priced 6-Weight Outfit

The 6 wt. rod is really gaining popularity, from throwing big foam flies out west, streamers in the Smokies, or Midwest bass, people are starting to realize the value and potential of a good 6-weight rod. The Douglas DXF 9' 6-weight is the perfect all-around candidate for filling such a variety of vast niches at a great price. The Galvan Rush is the reel that we've paired with the Shadow and is quite simply one of the "best bang for your buck" reels in the industry right now. We are now LETTING YOU CHOOSE between the Rush-6 or Rush-5 reels on our 6-weight outfits. Both sizes work great for a 6-weight rod. If you prefer a larger arbor or are concerned with backing capacity go with the R-6. If you like a lighter and smaller reel, go with the R-5. The R-6 will hold about 170 yards of 20lb. backing with a WF-6-F line, the R-5 will hold about 85 yards of 20lb. backing, (which is more than enough for even large trout). We feel the Scientific Angler's MPX line is the best match for this rod. The MPX taper line comes in two coatings however, a Mastery MPX and an Amplitude MPX. We are LETTING YOU CHOOSE between these two line options, both of which you are getting a price break. The Mastery MPX, ($79.95), has SA's original smooth coating. The Amplitude MPX has a slicker and more durable coating with microscopic "golf ball dimples" cut out of it which reduces friction, allowing you to cast further and with greater efficiency. The Amplitude MPX does make a little noise going through your guides but it not as loud as the now discontinued "shark skin" coating. While the Amplitude coating has a texture to it, we have found it will not burn your fingers like the old shark skin lines did. In general we recommend the Amplitude because it lasts longer and is virtually maintenance free. No matter where you're fishing or what fly is on the end of your line this outfit will do the job for you. We've also included aYellowstone Angler hand-tied leader for greater turnover and accuracy and all the backing that you'll need to get on the water. Everything will be rigged and ready to fish, all you'll need to do is choose which fly to tie on!
