Paradise Valley Spring Creek Fishing Report

Kelsey Kubelick showing us how it's done!  Photo: BFD

With temps in the 90's this week its nice to fish the spring creeks, where cooler 52-55° water comes out of springs. The fish in the spring creeks are selective however, which means they will be looking for specific insects at the specific time of their emergence. As long as your fly box is equipped properly with PMDs, sulfurs, midges, scuds, hoppers, ants, and beetles you should be good to go.

Its best to fish the spring creeks with a 3 or 4 weight fly rod as they load more accurately in close, are generally better at protecting your 6.5X tippet, and also allow you to get a better drift with their skinner line (than say a 5-weight fly line). If you are not yet familiar with the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks let one of our guides show you the way.  You will learn different approaches to each run, riffle, corner hole as well as what to use and the proper techniques needed to catch fish.
