Located in the heart of Yellowstone Country, Livingston is famous for its trout fishing, art, writing, and being a railroad town - the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. We are blessed to live and work near some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountains.
The Yellowstone Angler is located at 5256 US HWY 89 South, (1/2 mile south of I-90 - exit 333). Our shop has a spacious 4,000 square foot space devoted to gear, tackle, clothing, and accessories, as well as one of the best assortments of flies where you can browse through over 3,750 patterns and sizes.
Yellowstone Angler acts as a booking agent for Montana’s finest, most in-demand fly fishing outfitters and guides. We’d proudly put these “core” guides head-to-head against the very best in Montana. They are the reason our guide service is so successful, with countless satisfied clients who keep coming back for more expertise. More importantly, our guides understand that you are here not just to fish but to have fun, improve your abilities and sharpen your instincts.
In addition to our staff guides, we also book trips for several independent outfitters and guides, many who you will recognize below and have likely fished with before. We have listed some of the independent guides that we work with most frequently, however we work more than 40 independent guides in total. Even if you are not in Montana or planning to come out, you might still enjoy reading one of our Fly Fishing Shootouts on line. Most of our Shootouts compare rods or reels but we have also done a Tippet Shootout as well as a Wader Shootout. In these independent tests we provide lots of information, so wether you are an expert or novice there is something for all.
