The Yellowstone has been changing daily.  Pockets of opportunity out there, and if you hit one just right the streamer fishing can actually be really good.  Definitely seeing some midge activity when the wind dies down too.   In general, this winter has been either warm and windy or cold miserable (at least for fishing).  Fortunately almost all the put-ins are iced over right now, which snuffs out any temptation to float.  With wade fishing being the only option, make sure you wear studded boots.  It has been slippery out there!   Black has (by far) been my best color this winter but everyone else seems to be doing good on the olive.  I think more than anything it’s just being out there with your fly in the water.
