The Lamar finally spiked a bit but the Yellowstone is still green and good to go today in the Valley and town. The Shield's is ripping and muddy however, so be aware that 89 down will have some added color.
The Shield's river did spike hard, and is brown. And it seemed like yesterday there was a mid-valley plug coming from one of the feeder creeks (but it was still fishable).
With salmonflies, goldenstones, sallies, PMD's, chocolate sedges, caddis, and green drakes the fish have a plethora of options. Streamers can be a good way to go as well, especially on these rainy, socked in, cloudy days. Typically you won't catch as many fish as nymphing, but if you are after a trophy fish, (or just don't like looking at a bobber), this is a good way to go!
