Yellowstone River Fishing Report - 6/10/26

June 10, 2026

Yellowstone River Fishing Report
CFS: 8,610

Clarity at Carter's (Wednesday, 6/10 at 9:23 AM)

CFS on the Yellowstone is more or less on the drop with daily ups and downs. This means clarity is going to vary, but overall it has been clear "enough" to catch a few fish. The boats we've talked to have been catching just that, but as soon as these CFS bumps settle down and the river gets more green those numbers are going to sky rocket.

Either try nymphing with a big fly (#4-8) and a smaller nymph (#10-16) behind it or try throwing streamers along the bank. This is the time of year someone could catch a toad out of the bird float.

We are anticipating a great year for Salmonflies as the river will be lower than usual for this time of year. Also many anglers will be scheduled on other rivers instead of the Yellowstone, which means there should be less angling pressure.

CFS on the lower Madison spiked up 6/1 but has since dropped.  If you are a dry fly angler, there have been good PMD's hatches here recently.  Crayfish, worms, and PMD nymphs will all be good flies for nymphing.

If you are up for a little more windshield time, the Missouri and Bighorn rivers are also fishing well.  Give us a call to book a trip or for the latest clarity/wind report:  1-406-222-7130

*Keep in mind Grey Bear access is closed as they are working on a new parking lot. 89 bridge is open - however you can't access it driving east from Livingston on I-90.  Instead, you'll have to drive past it, exit a Mission Creek, do a u-turn and drive west on I-90 exiting at 89 North. (The reason for this is they are working on the bridge that goes over I-90).
