Yellowstone River Fishing Report

Clarity at 9th St Island (Thursday, 6/4 at 6:35AM)
CFS on the Yellowstone looks to back on the steady drop. After some rain and cooler With temps ranging in the 60's to 80's this week it is reasonable to think the Yellowstone may stay on the drop. The visibility has improved today giving willing anglers a real shot at dredging seams and pounding the edges with big nymphs or streamers.
We are expecting a great year for Salmonflies as the river will be lower than usual for this time of year. Also many anglers will be scheduled on other rivers instead of the Yellowstone, which means there should be less angling pressure.
CFS on the lower Madison spiked up 6/1 but has since dropped. If you are a dry fly angler, there have been good PMD's hatches here recently. Crayfish, worms, and PMD nymphs will all be good flies for nymphing.

*Keep in mind Grey Bear access is closed as they are working on a new parking lot. 89 bridge is open - however you can't access it driving east from Livingston on I-90. Instead, you'll have to drive past it, exit a Mission Creek, do a u-turn and drive west on I-90 exiting at 89 North. (The reason for this is they are working on the bridge that goes over I-90).
