This is a great little rod measuring 6′-6″ in good to excellent condition.
Capt. Joy Dunlap built the rod. Joy was active in the Destin, Florida area. He built bamboo rods for customers including Robert Redford and First Lady Laura Bush.
Included with the sale is a letter of Provenance by its current owner with the background of this particular rod built for Jim. (See images)

The rod weighs 3.6 oz. and the sections are equal lengths (the tip is a little longer and I believe it was built that way).
Built in 1989 as a one tip rod, the original sock is included. The rod does have an aluminum tube but I’m not sure its original to the rod.

The rod casts beautifully with a really nice quick dry fly action. I loved it.
