Welcome to Brown Town .... Photo: Logan Brown

The Yellowstone has been fishing very well the past few days.  The has been some wind (and rain) to deal with, but the fish have been crushing nymphs, streamers, and even big salmonfly and goldenstone dries.  The epic “big bug” dry fly days are still to come, perhaps by this weekend or early next week.  In the meantime the nymph fishing has been off the hook, fishing with salmonfly and goldenstone nymphs as well as dead drifted streamers.  We’ve also been seeing a lot yellow sallies as well as caddis and big chocolate caddis.  The only catch?  The upper Madison also has salmonflies now and is in full swing… there’s too many good options right now!  Give us a call to book a trip:  406-222-7130.

Salmonfly nymphs thick in the valley, soon to "pop" any day now...
