Cortland Wolfe and guide Matt Carara with a 21" dry fly eater... Photo: Tim Howard

The Dry fly fishing was excellent yesterday, most likely a direct result of the long welcomed cloud cover.  We’ve been seeing lots of stonefly shucks on the rocks from Springdale all the way up through town – but enough said about that. Smaller dries have also been working well in the Valley, mostly caddis with yellow sallies finally on the way out.  Hoppers have yet to get going but we’ll be fishing them soon enough, ditto that for flying ants.  Yesterday water temps dropped a good bit which is always nice to see.  Right now looks like a great time to get out there and catch some fish!
