Clarity above Carter’s 6/13 – 14,000 CFS

Although the Yellowstone has been dropping we are expecting the river to come back up this week. We had a few days with day time temperatures in the high 80’s which eventually caused the Lamar and other rivers to come up. While temps are going to be lower starting Sunday, we also have some rain in the forecast. All that said, we do expect to be fishing the Yellowstone sooner than we were last year. We are always hesitant to put a firm date on when runoff will be over but we are anticipating guide trips to begin by late June.

Hydrologic Prediction is looking like the Yellowstone could be fishable as early as 6/19

The good news is that while we are waiting to get back on the Stone, the fishing has been heating up on the Spring Creeks, lakes, and other South Western Montana rivers. PMD’s, salmonflies, and callibaetis will be the main courses from now until into July. Let the dry fly fever begin! Give us a call if you’d like to book a trip. 1-406-222-7130.
