While hoppers and chubbies are still the go to, the streamer bite is starting to get a little more traction over here, especially with the recent cloud cover and cooler weather/water temps. We have a few new custom patterns at the shop as well as some old favorites which are sure to get some looks. There’s no mud in the system as of yet, but give us a call in the morning just in case. As of 5:30PM today the Lamar didn’t get hit with the sever thunderstorm they were calling for, nor did the Valley. If you are on vacation and are looking to fish this Labor day weekend, give us a call as we still have a few openings. The dry fly bite has also been fishing well lately, with fish looking up in the shallow riffles and faster water. The Chub-rub combo or hopper dropper remain two of the most popular rigs and for good reason! Small dries have also been working well, especially once you’ve spotted rising fish, either in an eddie or a foam line. Cross your fingers for clouds as we should be seeing fall baetis and hecuba out, plus the clouds can only help for the streamer bite. Give us a call to book a guide! 406-222-7130.
