John Bond with a nice spotted brown up high...
Logan Brown snaps a quick "selfie"

Now that we’ve had some warmer weather some of the feeder creeks and rivers that flow into the Yellowstone have been brining in a little mud.  Yesterday was still pretty good above Pine Creek and town looked “green is good.”  Down low (below the Sheild’s) hasn’t been looking as clear but give us a call as clarity can change daily.  As for bugs there have been both spring baetis and midges on the water.   Finding a day with clouds and little wind is the key for blanket baetis, in general we’ve been seeing more midges but when the baetis do come off the hatch has been thick.  If you are up for throwing meat, the best colors seem to be black, olive, white, or yellow.  If you feel like fishing under a bobber for a while the rubber legs is hard to beat.  Any size 12-16 bead head behind it should be working as well.  Give us a call for the latest clarity/wind updates:  406-222-7130.
