Tailwaters Fishing Well

With the Yellowstone still running high and dirty we’ve been headed towards other destinations.  Tailwaters have been some of the best options, especially the Lower Madison and Missouri since they are a little closer than the Bighorn.  Give us a call if you’d like to go!  406-222-7130.

Clarity June 8

All the warm weather the past few days have pushed the Stone into a muddy, fast run off. We’d suggest sticking to tailwaters, the Lower Madison, Big Hole, lakes, and Spring Creeks. If you do find yourself on the Yellowstone please be extremely cautious of debris and and other unexpected hazards that could present themselves….

Yellowstone Still Fishable

The Yellowstone is still hanging in there although CFS is rising.  Usually the Stone doesn’t fish well on the rise but this past week has been the exception.  Keep an eye on the charts as this week’s warm temperatures should finally bring some heavy snow melt and mud.  To our surprise the Stone was about…

Yellowstone National Park – Season Opener

The 2016 season is officially open in Yellowstone National Park!  Surprisingly some of the NE rivers are still in decent shape and fishing well, streams we typically can’t fish until after Spring runoff.  With warmer temps on the way, we should see these rivers rise and become unfishable by later this week until Mid-June.  Then…

Stone Still Fishing

Surprisingly the Yellowstone is still hanging in there on clarity.  Today and tomorrow will likely be your best chances. The visibility is perfect for fishing streamers and going for a big brown.  We saw a few small fish rising yesterday, most likely eating caddis but the streamer bite was good enough to keep stripping.  If…

Madison River report

The Madison has been fishing well and has been a good option while the Yellowstone is still high and muddy. It is still a little early for the Salmon Flies, but come mid-June we expect to see a healthy hatch. Give us a call at (406)-222-7130 to book a trip!

Creeks, Lakes & the MO

Well folks, it’s official. The Yellowstone is full run off mode. We’d suggest fishing any of the area lakes, spring creeks, or head to the Missouri for some good fishing. Give us a call at 406-222-7130 to get information or to book a trip. If you do find yourself out on the Yellowstone, please be…
