Lakes fishing well

It seems the local and private lakes in our area have taken a turn – for the better this week!  With cooler temps through the rest of the Fall we expect to see more fish cruising the edges rather than hanging in deep, uncharted waters.  To top it off, most all of the fishing has…

Streamer time…

Of course if we had our pick, we’d want to be fishing streamers on a cloudy day – but sometimes that simply isn’t in the cards.  If you are faced with a bright day your best shot for numbers is going to be nymph fishing, or at least dry/dropper.  If you are OK with catching…

Yellowstone or Madison

Both the Yellowstone and Madison have been fishing well the past few days.  If you are thinking the Madison, both the Upper and Lower have been producing some great browns.  If you are thinking the Yellowstone, mid-valley has had less pressure lately, as it has been pretty low.   Looks like we have some sunny…

The browns are biting…

The Yellowstone has been kicking out some nice browns lately.  Most of these have been caught on streamer patterns but a handful of nice fish have been caught on hoppers, stonefly dries, attractor dries, and nymphs.  The weather forecast is looking great for this weekend and into next week.  Give us a call to book…

Yellowstone fishing well…

While hoppers and chubbies are still the go to, the streamer bite is starting to get a little more traction over here, especially with the recent cloud cover and cooler weather/water temps.  We have a few new custom patterns at the shop as well as some old favorites which are sure to get some looks….

Still Hopper Time

Hoppers have been working well for a while now, typically fished in the smaller sizes (#10-12).  Now that the hoppers have had a chance to grow all summer we’ve been fishing larger hoppers, (#6-8) especially in heavier/faster water located below waves and rapids.  Perhaps the fish look up and see these larger hoppers and chubbies…
